IMAGINE Journey Design

Travel that changes you

Extraordinary journeys through Uganda and East Africa designed around wonder, discovery, transformation, belonging and heritage.

The Philosophy

We don't build tours.
We design homecomings.

IMAGINE creates deeply personal journeys through Uganda and beyond. We believe the greatest luxury is not how far you travel or the thread count of your sheets. It is how deeply a place stays with you.

Every journey begins privately and is shaped with intention around the landscapes, people, stories and moments that call to you. Nothing is taken from a shelf. Nothing is simply repeated.

Limited Editions

Four journeys.
Limited departures.
A small number of places.

Every so often, IMAGINE opens a handful of extraordinary journeys beyond our private commissions, carefully composed expeditions built around a particular kind of traveller, season or experience.

These are limited departures, intentionally small and available on a first-confirmed-booking, first-served basis.

How IMAGINE Works

Your journey starts with a conversation.

Whether you're coming for gorillas or food markets, travelling as a family, on honeymoon, as a returning son or daughter of the diaspora, or with a camera and time to wait for the light, the journey starts with how you like to travel.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you're imagining

A place, a feeling, a person you want to travel with. Half an idea is enough to begin.

  2. 02

    We ask better questions

How you like to spend a morning, what pace suits you, what you'd rather skip. We want to understand how you travel, not just where.

  3. 03

    We design your journey

A route, hosts, guides and places to stay, chosen for you and explained so you know why each piece is there.

  4. 04

    You refine it with us

Change the pace, swap a day, add a detour. The journey is yours until it feels right.

  5. 05

We take care of the details

Permits, transfers, timings and the small practical things, handled by people on the ground in East Africa.

  6. 06

    You travel

With a guide who helps you understand a place and a team a message away the whole time.

Journey Compass

Six unhurried questions.

Tell us what draws you here. A journey designer will use your answers to begin shaping a private journey through Uganda and East Africa.

Your answers are privately sent to the IMAGINE journey design studio. They are never used to generate an automated trip.

Beyond the itinerary

Three quiet directions we are often asked about.

Optional add-ons

Kampala, after dark.

A contemporary city worth lingering in. We compose private evenings on request, a jazz salon in a colonial-era townhouse, a chef's table with one of the country's quiet culinary voices, a rooftop gathering with Kampala's designers and artists, or an introduction to the creative community shaping modern Uganda.

Composed by request alongside any journey. Not a nightlife product.

Future Extraordinary Collection

Where Uganda's deep heritage waits.

We are quietly building limited-departure journeys with academic heritage specialists, the Nyero Rock Paintings, Bigo bya Mugenyi's earthworks and private hours with Uganda Museum curators. Held for a small number of travellers a year. By application, not by booking.

For the creative traveller

Writers, designers, filmmakers, architects.

A meaningful share of our travellers come seeking material, for a book, a film, a portfolio, a practice. We compose accordingly: longer mornings, fewer transfers, introductions to Ugandan counterparts and the kind of stillness that lets the work find you.

Mention your practice when you write, the studio will respond in kind.
